The Palmerston N. District Lodge held its usual quarterly session at Foxton yesterday in the Masonic Hall. The Sanson and Rongotea delegates and members of the district journeyed to Foxtoa by tram. The delegates from Levin and Horowhenua Lodges wore unavoidably detained. However, there was a good representative gathering from several Lodges. Bio. E. Grove, D.C.T., of Paimerston NorLh, presided at the sessions. The first session was held in the afiernoon, when several members of the subordinate Lodges were instructed in the district degree, afier which several matters of importance to the district were discussed, the most important of which was, that rek .irq to the appointment of a District Lodge lecturer, and ye u.nders A and 'hat a Rev. brother's name has beens-sgested fcr '.Ms cftse. Hoy/ever, the mat':sr was left in the hands of the District Executive to arr?nge, and to report at next dieMc'; session. A soecial cecsicr. rrs.s zlso held in the evening at 6.45 p.m. for the purpose of conferring the district degree on those members who could rot attend the afternoon session. At this session 5 members attended fcr the instruction. ' . „ . An 1.0. G.T. Social Re-union was held in the Methodist School room in the evening when the Hall was full. The D.C.T. presided, when a capital programme of lodge recitations readings, and addresses were submitted. The following visitors contributed, Sister Fagan, Bro. Grove, and little Miss Grove. Bro. Rev. Woollass gave an address on the work of Good Templary in the district which was very forceful, the Rev. gentlemen's remarks being very heartly applauded. Several Foxton friends and others also contributed to the programme. A break was made in the programme during the evening when a supper that had been prepared by MrJ. Walls was handed round. The Sanson Mends proposed^ through their delegates, Ero. John Anderson and Bro. Fagan, a vote of thanks to the Foxton Lodge for their entertainment. Also a vote of thanks was passed to the Foxton Brass Band for their attendance and performance before the meeting. The next district meeting is expected to be held at Rongotea some time in November next.
