Danoing Assembly.
The )asi dance of the series of assemblies took place last night at the Public Hall, and was voted to be the most successful yet held. A large number were present, and the stage was decorated and furnished in such a manner that made things very plea-, sant and comfortable. Messrs Pickering and Tombs supplied the music, which was first-class, and the supper was much appreciated, being supplied by the ladies. The extras were played j by Mrs James Symons and Miss L. Symons. The floor was not what it should hfive been for* the first two or dances on the programme, but flfknptoyed as time wore on. A fair ■ number of visitors from other parts of the district were also present, making a pleasant addition. The secretary, Mr G. Lamb, and the committee of ladies and gentlemen who have carried through these dances, are to be congratulated on their success.
