PROHIBITION CASE.
Edward Battersby was charged by Constable Forster with procuring liquor for a prohibited person. The charge was laid under section 169 of "The Licensing Act, 1881." The accused pleaded guilty, but said that he understood that the prohibition ceased last Sunday. The constable detailed the case, and said he had previously cautioned the accused not to serve, prohibited persons. The accused was fined £2, and us costs, and The accused asked for 14 days to find the money. Application was granted, the police not objecting. CIVIL. Thos. Westwood ?. A. Parker. Claim — £nos4<l. Judgment by default for amount and costs, 20s. Judgment by default for amount with costs 4 is, witness 10s, and solicitor, 3 is. W. B. Rhodes v. H. E. A. Cameron. Claim — .£4 O.S 2d. Judgment by default for amount, and costs, 6s. J. R. McMillan v. T. Fraser. Claim — £1 18s 3d. Judgment by default for amonnt, and costs 10s. „ J. R. McMillan v. S. Dowdall. Claim — jC I 5 s zd. Judgment by default for amount, and costs 6s. C. H. Moss v. P. O'Grady, for wages. Claim — £23 10s. Mr Ray appeared for plaintift, and Mr A. S. Ba.ker.for defendant. (The case was being heard as we went to press.)
