Terrible Collision at Sea.
♦ The French linpr Labouziyne, bound from New York to tfavre. daring a den?e fog and steaming 18 knots, collided with the Cromarty* chirp, opening a gqeat hole near her own engine-room and sank in a few minu'e?. The Oroniartysbire, which rescued 200 porson3 by means of boats and rafts, was towed by the Etruria to Halifax. After the collision some terrible scenes occurred. The crew seized the boats and poshed the passengers away with the boalhooks and oar?, and cut the ropes were the. women were clinging to them. They also threw some of the women from the boats. The steamer had 726 souls on board, and of these 31 of the crew and 170 passengers were saved, only one woman being amooy the num ber. ____
