MANILA.
News from the Philippines states that Axjuinaldo, the rebel leader, refused the request of the German Admiral to surrender with his family to General Auguste, the Spanish Military Commander at Manila.
The Governor of Manila has issued a proclamation in which he states thafc Germany will not permit bombardment. He has cabled to Madrid that 1000 of the garrison are sick, and 200 wounded. He disdained to surrender, and would fight to the last.
Spanish sovereignty of the Island of Visayas Mindao has been maintained*
The latest Manila advices state that the Americans found 6000 tons of coal at Cavite, and so far have not had to touch their reeerve stock.
Colonel San Miguel, of the Spanish Artillery, committed suicide after inspection of the stock of ammunition.
It is atated that there had been shameful frauds in connection with the ammunition supply, and that the stock is nothing like whit it should be.
