Foxton Borough Council.
A special meeting of the Borough Council was held yesterday afternoon at 2.80, to consider what action the Council would take with respect to the proposed bridge at Wirokino. Present— Crs Hennessy (in the chair), Fraser, Westwood and Rhodes. A letter was read from Mr John Stevens, M.H.8., in reply to one sent by the Council. The Council then went into committee and on resuming a resolution was carried deputing Crs Hennessy, Fraser, Rhodes and the Mayor to wait upon the Hon. the Minister for Lands. It was arranged that Mr Stevens, M.H.R., be telegraphed to to fix a date with the Minister and also to introduce the deputation.
