Mr Greenaway waited upon the Council with reference to his being rated in connection with the loan whioh was oarried for metalling pc: t cf Sanson line. The Chairman decided that as tbe matter had been dealt with by tbe ratepayers he had no power to deal with the matter. Resolved that Medway street, Rongotea be metalled. Resolved tbat Messrs Merritt and Ball's tender for delivering metal and clay on River Bank and Rosina line, and also for delivering of scrub and metal at Scott's Ferry be accepted.—Carried. On the motion of Cr Taylor seconded by McLennan it was re solved that a general rate of f ths of ft penny in the £ be struck for the year ending Slst March. A separate rate of £ of a penny in tbe £ within the riding of Awahau, of fifteen sixteenths of a penny in the £ within the riding of Sanson,! f ths of a penny in the £ within each of the ridings of Waitohi and Campbelltown, £d in the £ within each of the ridings of Mt. Steward, Carnarvon, Kawa Kawa. — Carried. OBDINABY. Resolved that the following alterations be made on the new Valuation Rolls in accordance with applications already received. Henry Hinks in place of James Risk for section 19, Mrs H. Thorn p son instead of James Risk for section 40, R, Dafter instead of G. J. Phillips, M. O'Riley instead of Mrs S. Purkiss, M. Richardson instead of R. M. Murry, Mr J. Hunt instead of C. Hopping, F. K. Tompkins instead of B. Gray, James McHardie instead of C Hopping, F. K. Tompkins instead of E. Crabb, B. S. Penny instead of P. Desmond. Proposed by Cr T. Clark, seconded by Cr H. Hammond that rations to the amount of 10s per week be granted to the family of W. Brabant, of Rongotea, during the pleasure of the Counoil. - Carried. Proposed by Cr Strang, seconded by Or McLennan ".That the Clerk be instructed to serve notices on all flax and timber mill owners in the country that they will be held re sponsible for damages done to all roads caused by extraordinary traffic. — Carried. The usual accounts were passed for payment and the Council adjourned.
