London. The House of Commons haa sanctioned an Indian loan of £10,000,000 : for railway extension and to provide a reserve fund in the event of war or famine, Riots have occurred at Belfast. They began in the morning and lasted all day. A procession organised by the Na« tionalists in celebration of the 1798 rebellion was met by a number of Orangemen. In the melee that ensued the Orangemem unhorsed policemen, and beat them savagely, and paving, stones and bricks were thrown. The Orangemen gained possession and held the streets, chasing the police out of them, and seriously injured many policemen. The Innsiskilling and north Staffordshire Regiments were called out and charged the mob, but were unable to restore order. At midnight when the last advices were received, the disorder had not been quelled, and it was feared that it would be necessary for the military to fire upon the mob.
