A Serious Accident.

About the middle of last week Mr William Barnett met with what has proved a most calamitous accident. He was working at the Wirokino Ferry driving some bolts out of some iron when a piece flew out and hit him under one eye. The damage appeared to be serious and he entered the Wellington Hospital when it was found necessary to take the injured eye out, and the doctors entertain great tears about the safety of the remaining eye.
