The Golden Klondike.
AN ENORMOUS RUSH OP GOLD SEEKERS GOING IN. SOUND ADVICE FROM AN INHABITANT. In the rush towards the golden fields of the Klondike, there are thousonds who are ill-fitted to Btand the strain of hardship and exposure, which are inseparable from that trip. Illness, disease, and death is a^moßt certain to claim many of the illprepared adventurers. The following letter from one who has undergone the hardships j of the trip, will prove interesting to thoao ! who intend going into the desolate but goldladen north:— Skagway, March Ist, 1898Dear Sirs,— My object in writing this letter is to give a word of advico to those who contemplate going to the Yukon Goldfields. For ten years I have followed the occupation of pro pecting, timber-estimat-ing and mining, and the hardships and privations which one has to undergo, are enough to wreck the strongest cornttution. In the spring of 1895 I wa<» stricken with pleurisy, a3 the result of pxnosurc. I recovered from this, but it f ■■[-. behind the seeds of disease which manifested themselv<B in the foim of heart, and kidney troubles. I managed to reach Vancouver, but did not have much hcpiof recoveiing. I waa advised, however to give Dr Williams' Pink Pills a trial and at £nt purchased but two boxes. Before these were gone I found beyond a doubt that they were helping me, and their continued use " put me on my feet again," to uae a common expression. I then engaged to go to the Yukon country, and only those who have made a trip to Dawson City can form aven tbe faintest conception of the hardships that have to be born in making the ; journey. Before starling I add'd to my j outfit two dozen boxps of Dr Willhms' Pink Pills and I can honestly siy no part of my kit proved ef such valuable service ; to me, and I would srongly urge every man who goes in, to -tike a supply with him, as he will find the need of such a tonic and upbui'der of th* system on many occasions. I went m and returned to this place by the DaUon trail, which consists of 350 miles of old Indian trail, s'aifu- at Pyramid Harbor. In going over the trail one has at to wade through mud more than a foot deep, and ford streams waistdeep in ice-oold waters. When I started | for the Yukon my weight was on'y 149 pounds, and I now weigh 169 pounds, thankg to Dr Williams' Pink Piild j I am soon starting for another trip to : Dawson by the same route. This time, j however, the travelling will be on snowshoes, and you may depend upon it Dr Williams' Pink Pil's will again form part of my ou'fit. I write this letter for the t vofold purpose ' of letting you know what your medicine has done for me, and urging those who go in to take a supply with them. Every man whether he is sick or well, who undertakes j the trip to the Yukon will require somethirig : to brace him him and keep his constitution ' sound in that country. I may say that my '■■ home is at Copper Cliff, Ont., where my , wife now resides. ' Yours very truly, JOHN PICHE. j A remarkable efficacy in curing diseases arising from an impoverished condition of i the blood or an impairment of the nervous system, such as rheumatism, neuralgia, partial paralysis, locomotor ataxia, St Vitus' dance, nervous headache, nervous prostration, and the tired feeling therefrom j the after effects of la grippe, influenza, j dengue fever, and severe colds, diseases j depending on humors in the blood, such as \ scrofula, chronic erysipelas, &c, U possessed by Dr Wil'iams' Pink Pills for Pale People, which give a heaHhy glow to pae and sallow complexions. They aro a specfio for the troub'es peculiar to the female system, and in tbe case oi men they effect a radical cure in al 1 cases arising from mental worry, over-work, and excesses of any nature. A tria' of this rpinedy will convince the most sceptical. The genuine Dr Williams' Pink Pil's are sod only in woodon boxes, about two inches in length, each of which is encircled by a blue warning label. Tta outside wrapper has the full name, Dr Williams'
Pink Pills for Pale People, printed in rt-A. In case of doubt it is better to send direct to the Dr Williams' Medicine Company Wellington, N.Z., enclosing .the price, 3s. a box, or six boxes for 16s 6d. These pills are not a purgative, and they contain nothing that could injure the most delicate.
