WANDERERS WIN. On Tuesday (Queen's Birthday), a team from the Foxton Cricket Club travelled out to the Oroua Downs by invitation, to play an eleven chosen by Mr McLennan, as a return match to the one played at Herrington, when the local Club made a remarkable score. This time the tables were turned and the Oroua men won the game, the match being determined on the first innings, by ao runs. Through the light failing, the visitors were unable to complete their second innings. The teams were most hospitably entertained by Mrs McLennan, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. At the conclusion of the lunch Mr McLennan, in an appropriate speech, proposed the health of "Her Majesty the Queen, God bless her !" which was drunk with enthusiasm. Mr McLennan, with a brake, met the trains at Carnarvon, and conveyed the visitors to and fro. The pitch was very fair, and in the opinion of the players an excellent one could be made with very little trouble. , Following are the scores : — Oboua Wandekees. —First Innings.
