HEAVY CANNONADING.
Captain Sampson announces his arrival off the Haytian coast, where he awaits the scouting vessels seeking information as to the movement of the Cap 9 Verde Spanish fleet. San Doiniugo officials report hearing heavy cannonading off Mount Cristi. It is believed that Captain Sampson has fallen in with and engaged the Spanish fleet. If ha * succeeds in destroying the Spanish vessels he will blockade and if necessary capture Puerto Rico.
