Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report as follows :—

We have sales at Levin, Colyton, and Palmerston to report on. At Levin on Eriday last, the sheep entered were mostly of an inferior character, and though we sold everything low prices were the order of the day. Plenty of buyers were present, and good sheep would have sold freely. We had fr II yards of cattle inoluding some very nice pens of young steers. The demand was slack, and but little buiiress was done.

At Colyion on Tuesday the yards were -tiled with useful lines of sheep. We had a better attendance than usual inolnding a number of outside buyers. With the exception of a line of wethers, and some forward steers everything was sold at current rates.

At Palmerston on Thursday, sheep were in excess of advertised numbers. A considerable number of well-fattened ewes came forward, these met a ready sale, and were all disposed of at a considerate advance in recent rates. Good stores sold freely. Grown cattle were in better demand and sold freely, whilst a line of well-bred 18-month stsera made the best prioe for that class of cattle for some time past. Vendors are now beginning to realise that low prioes must be the order of the day for the next few months, though these are far in excess of southern quotations. Prices realised.
