The object of the concert tour I understand is to raise funds to enable Miss Dampier to go to Brussels for a year or two's study under Musin. Such a laudabie object should meet with the hearty support of all true lovers of music in this town, for " genius " is wasted and useless without adequate nourishment and food in the way of training and pro-perly-directed study. Miss Dampier is now only 18 years of age, and in five years from now, with proper training, should become a second Norman Neruda. Miss Dampier appeared at Palmerston North last Thursday evening, her numbers and also Miss Hatherly's being much enjoyed by the audience. Both peformers were recalled for all their selections.
