THE OPPOSING NAVIES.
Six of the fastest warships belonging to Captain Sampson's squadron have coaled at Key West, and sailed to unite with the equadaon lying in Hampton Roads. The combined squadrons will sail from the roads together. They com prise four battleships, two armoured aud throe protected cruisers and five fast scout ships.
It is believed that their destination is Puerto Rico.
The American warship Oregon (10,288 tons), which recently arrived at Rio de Janeiro, has again left in company with the gunboat Marietta. America has purchased the steamer City of Peking, at San Francieco, to convey coal and troops to Manila. The Spanish Oape Verde squadron has arrived at Cadiz, and it will be joined by the armoured ship Felago (9900 tons) and three cruisers before crossing the Atlantic.
