(Before A. Greenfield, Eeq., S.M.) This Day. criminal. Police v. A. R. Jeffcoat. Defendant was charged with that be did on the 19'h March indecently assault Alice Maud Rand. The caee was dismissed. C-Y_L. H. A. Easther, Truant Inspector, secured convictions against A. King, B. Spelman, S Howan (2 cases), F. Gook, T. Lee, E. Battersby and A. Kemp for their children being absent from ichool. Fines of 2a for each absence were infltctpd. In the cases of J. R. McMillan, Mr Fitzherbert appeared on behaH of Mr J. H- Hankin?, and judgment wft , given acrainst the following defendants :— Thomas Purcell. JB7 2s 2d. coats 28s 6d ; Wi Aperima, £2 la ad, cost? 19a ; Heta, £1 Is 6d, coats 18*.. . £«*_. sitting.)
