Foxton Borough Council.
A special meeting was held at the Library Buildings last night at 7.80 p.m. Present — Grs. Westwood (in the chair) Walsh, Hennessy and Fraser Two letters from Mr J. T. Bay were read. The Council resolved itself into committee of the whole and on resuming reported and the following resolutions were put and passed. Proposed by Cr. Hennessy Sec onded byCr. Fraser. That James 3|oQaeen, of Feilding, bnt now of Foxton be and hereby appointed Town Clerk, Collector, Treasurer, Vainer, Returning Officer, Oversee* of works, Inspector of Nuisances and Librarian of and for the Borough of Foxton at a salary of £100 per annum, payable monthly and the QBe and occupation rent free of three rooms now occupied by Mr Brown adjoining the Public Office of the Council with kerosene oil and fire* Wood free (for use in such rooms ) '■ Proposed by Cr Walsh, seconded far Or Hennessy, That James ffcQueen shall sign articles of agreement containing the terms of his appointment and ejpeoifying the duties feV undertakes and shall provide fotfufactory security to the amount pf 4JJJOO for the faithful execution of nfs duties. — Carried.
