The Philipine Islands.
Eastern files show that the Philippine Islands revolt has broken out in a worse form than ever.
The China Mail says that the Spanish authorities will find it sven more difficult to scotch this rising than the last. The present leaders, it is feared, vvi^. neither show mercy nor practise the' consideration to property which charac- A terised the former rising, nor is it 1^ expected that they will discriminate between Spaniards and other foreigners. When General Dastella bought over the rebels (says the same authority) he congratulated himself upon the ending of the rebellion, but it was one thing to bribe 30 leaders and another to encompass the complete pacification of the Philippines. ■
