SOCIAL.
On Friday evening last a most en- . joyable social took place at the Masonic Hall, the occasion being towelcome and entertain the Otaki tennis players, who had arrived that night to play a match on the day following. The committee of the local Tennis Club had everything in readiness to receive their visitors, and had made all arrangements to make a success of the affair, and the hall was iust comfortably filled, between forty and fifty being present. The Otaki party reached Foxton about 8.15 p.m., and drove to Stansell's Hotel, reaching the hall a little before nine o'clock. The following performers contributed musical items during the evening:-— Duet (piano), Misses Hamer and Osborne; solos, Mesdames Tames, Ja§*—. Symons, and the Uis^^mjgSSL
(2), McWilliam, M. Collins, M. Simcox, Messrs J. R. Stansell, Bert Young and W. Cook. Vocal duets, Mrs Jas. Symons and Miss Collins, Misses Whitehorn (2). During the evening a plentiful supply of refreshments was handed round, and a very pleasant and enioyable time was spent, the affair breaking up about *1 1 o'clock.
