School Excursion.
«, The School Committee held a special meeting yesterday morning to consider the letter from the Railway Department in which it was stated that they were unable to run the excursion to Dannevirke next Wednesday, but could on either the three following days. After discussing the question it was decided that the excursion should be i fixed for Friday next, and that the teachers be notified that they should also attend so as to give assistance to the committee in the care ot the children. The train will leave at 8.30 and the time of return is not yet fixed, but application will be made to the Department so that it may be early. No tickets will be issued oa the
morning of departure, but they will be available at the stores during next week, and Mr Thynne, the Chairman of the Committee, will attend at his office on Thursday evening for the further sale of them. It is hoped that every one will facilitate these arrangements, as the money has to be handed to the station-master before the train leaves.
