Oh Saturday afternoon a vei-y iuteresting match was played on the Herrin^on ground between the Ufoiil Polo Club and the Wharerangi Club. The Wharerangi team were : —Peacock i, Kennedy «■ S. Bennett 3, C Bepnett.4. THeOroda team were:.— B. Gower i, A. Strang 2> O. Fipbinson 3, R. McLennan 4. The teams were pretty even in play but the game resulted in Oroua getting 5 goals to Wharerangi 3. In the first three spells the Oroua's s6or«d a goal in each/ and the fourth spell restated .in no score. In the fifth spell the Oroua's scored one goal and the Whamangi's two, and in the last spell each team scored a goal. The scorers in the teams were C. Bennett, A. Strang and O. Robinson. There yas a fresh wind blowing and the ground was rather dusty. The Wharerangis experienced some hard luck as they were nearly scoring a good many times. The Wharerangi Club will make some good running for the Cup at the forth-coming tournament. They played the Rangitikei Club last Thursday and only lost by one goal. They played Manawatu yesterday. The visitors left by the afternoon train.
