Chat with a Famous Boxer.
HIS BIGGEST BATTLE.
During the last few years I have met many exponents of the fistic art, and only the other day it was ray good fortune to come across Mr Beattie, whoso ring experiences have been freely chronic:ed in press. So Baid a representative of the Balmain Observer, who had called on the gentleman at his residence, 32 Broughamstreet, Glebe, Sydney, to get some special information. " You must know " remarked Mr Beattie, 11 that I have held ihe amateur lightweight championship, and, in my time, have fought most of the best men in the colony. When training for the lightweight championship of the colony I broke down, of course through overtraining. The very thought of a boxing glove or a punching bag made me feel sick. I abondoned all hope of the championship, and took a complete rest. My arms and legs had given way, as it were, and I felt it was about as muoh.as I could do to walk up as far as the park (close by), and sit down. I got into a very low state, my flesh lost its firmness and elasticity, my appetite was very poor, and I thought my fighting career was over for good. I tried several tonics, but instead of getting batter, the opposite resulted, 60 I consulted two or three doctors, who said I only wanted rest, and they each in turn gave me some physic, but this only made me feel sick. It did me no good. One day I was sitting in the park in a hopeless sort of way, wondering if I should ever get my strength back, when I read in a newspaper the account of a cure in a case which seemed somewhat similar to my own. The remedy used was Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People. I bought a box. Alter taking a dozen pills or so, I noticed a most decided f-ffect. They acted like a pick-me-up. I stuck to the pills, and got stronger and more cheerful every day. I got back my lost appetite, and soon grew bo well that I actually felt a longing to have a turn at the punching-bag again. I took four boxes altogether, and feel now as fit as a fiddle, and I intend to start training again almost immediately. I am sure that Dr Williams' Pink Pills have put me right, and I consider then a splendid tonic for thosa indulging in heavy work, such as training, for I be ieve that strict training i} the heavest and most trying work in the world. I shall always recommend Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People to my fellow athletes when they go off color." * The action of Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale Peop'e is directy on the b'ood, and thus it is that they are so famous for the cure of anseinin and rheumatism, weak heart, scrofula, consumption, chronic erysipelas, and restore pa'e and sallow complexions to the glow .of health. They are also a splendid nerve and spiDa l tonic aad thus have cured many cases oi paralysis, locomotor f.taxy, neuralgia. St. Yitua' dance, and nervous, headache
