An Over Window.
Tho effect of a cornico over n window is often hard nnd unpleasiug, and there is n satisfaction in sometimes avoiding even the simple and convenient pole. Many peoplo would cast them all aside if they could only find a suitable design, such as
the accompanying pno of The Decorator and Furnisher, by which to dispose the drapery. This ia a simple and novel way of draping a window without introducing tho clumsy looking metal or wooden cornico. Tako a piece of wood and shape it the desired size. Place an overshelf on it if possible) and then hang two or three festoons of drapery from rings on the face of the board, In tho manner indicated. This will hido tho small iron rod from which tho long curtains are suspended, which will bo fixed between th 9 architraves of the window or door which is being draped.
