Rangitikei Polo Club's Sports.

The annual sports meeting oi the above club was held last Wednesday when there was a large attendance, including a good sprinkling of the j fair sex. The weather was all that ' could be desired and the sport on the whole was very good, some good finishes being witnessed during the day. Representatives from different oluba along the coast were present in goodly numbers. The race of the day (the cup) was undoubtedly a splendid go. Bonfire, ridden by the wellkaown Warrengat "rep," W. Chapman, just winning by a neck in the fair time of 58see, Huttie running second and Cocky third, not three yards separating the three placed horses. At the finish cheers were called for the owner, horse and rider. Too much cannot be said for the energetic secretary (E. H. Levett) and his pains-taking committee, who were all on the alert to keep the sponge going. Mr D Scott, in his position as starter, got the fields away in good style. Tho Bending Competition was

won by Mr J. G. VVilson'* Topay, Ngaru second, and Goldie third. Mrs D. G. Riddiford'a Bonfire carried off the Bracelet, Mr W. Chapman being in the saddle ; Cocky 2nd, Senora 3rd. Mr X., W. Dalrymple's Carbine the Polo £all Race, with Vixen Bnd Mr K. W. Dalrymple's Carbide and Oockey carried off the Postillion Race; Mr W. H. Keiller's Sweetheart and Qui Vive won the Tandem Race ; and in the Scurry Blackthorne and Heathe ran a dead heat, and in the run Mr ft. Gorton's Entry secured the honours.
