, » «■ We have received the following account of the wonderful quick ohanges in temperature which take place in Victoria from a gentleman who has just returned from a visit there. He was staying with some friends three or four weeks ago some fifty miles out of Melbourne. The weather was dreadfully hot, registering 110 degrees. It was impossible for a visitor to do anything but mop and fan himself. He was offered as a (change to take a drive to the nearest township and the driver appeared attired in a shirt and trousers alope, and then was hot, and our informant divested himself of all superfluous clothing. The drive to the township wae something terrible, heat and dust, but the driver kept saying that he believed a change would soon occur. It did as before returning back is came on to blow hard and to raic, a regular drencher, besides turning colder and colder, and though the driver had to stand the weather in the attire he had started in our informant was fortunate in having extra clothing likewise a borrowed great coat yet he felt chilled and tbe drive was beguiled by the anticipations of a roaring, fire when home was again reached. Though the morning opened so terribly hot yet at nigh*: our informant was only too glad to sit before a roaring fire with a great coat over bis ordinary clothing. This must be excessively trying to ii constitutions.
