NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ATH. LETIC & CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. WANGANUI. The town is filling with visitors in view of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Championship meeting to be held here to-day aad Friday. All the visiting competitors have arrived, except the Auckland contingent, who come by the morning train from the north. The tracks are in good order and fast times are particu! larly in the cycling events. Visitors favour Jones (Christchurch), but the local public click to iheir own champion (Thompson) for the cycling events. Great interest is taken in the meeting of Holder and Patrick, in the 100 yds hurdles, and Richards (Sydney) Martin and Smith (Auckland) and Holder in the hurdle events.
