Mr John Holmes.
The Flax Commissioner, as Mr Holmes prefers being called, ha? fully justified his appeintment what ever may be the actual results of hi? "expedition. We are very pleased to notice that the opinion we had formed of his push and speech were not misplaced, as wheravcr be has get his foot he has recagnised the value of the press, and secured for tbe colony and himself, and his mission, capital advertisement through the medium of interviews. Mr Holmes is a man any newspaper
man must like to»get hold of, as in facts he gives more than he obtains* Mr Holmes hag made much of his visit to Manchester and his silvertongue would be heard to great advantage at the gathering he attended and spoke. We notice that h in " The Colonies and India " atld * in "The Textile Manufacturer" a paper published at Manchester, the particulars about our flax has been ably set out through him. This must do good.
