The Winner of any race after the declaration of weights to incur a penalty of 7Jbs (not accumulative), in all handicap events at tbe meeting. Nominal ions for all events, except Maiden Hack Race (first day) and Trial Hack Handicap (secocd day), close with the Secretary at Foxfon on THURSDAY, December 30th, 1897, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on or about the Bth January, 1898. Acceptances for first day's races close on SATURDAY, January 15tb, 1898, at 9 pm.
