The winner of any race after the declaration of weights to incur a penalty of 71bs (not accumulative), in all handicap events at the meeting. Nominations for all events, except Maiden Hack Eace (first day) and Trial Hack Handicap (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on THURSDAY, December 30th, 1897, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on or about the Bih January, 1898. Acceptances for first day's races close on SATURDAY, January 15th, 1898, At 9 p.m.
