Agricultural Notes.

As the planting season is now on, and amateur farmers are fond of counting their chickens before they are hatched, it may prevent disappointment if they based their calculations of the yield of their crops upon the average of the colony, instead of an exceptional yield obtained upon a small area under peculiar circumstances. We find that the averages are as follows : — Wheat 27.88 bushels, Oata 88.62, Barley 29.30, Maize 44.18, Eye and Bare 23 80, Peas 27.05, Beans' 85.55, H^y 1.45 tons, and potatoes 6.47 ton*.
