Recovered from Consumption.

HOW ONE OP ENGLAND'S DEFENDERS WAS SAVED FROM THE GRAVE. ATTESTED BEFORE A JUSTICE CF THE PEACE. The cause of temperance has no stronger advocate than Mr Charles Terry, a hero of the Crimean War. Towards the end of 1896, Mr Terry then 66 years of age was taken very ill, and his friends knew that j that awful disease, Consumption, had him , in its fearful grasp and prompt and effective remedial measures were an absolute necessity. An effective remedy was discovered in Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People and Mr Terry enjoys perfect health ; he is yet to be found urging forward the oause of temperance. To a reporter of "The Australian Military Gazette" Mr Terry gave the following account of his illness and marvellous cure. 11 1 arrived in Australia in the latter end of 1877 in H.M.S. Sapphire, the Hon. Captain Merry.. I then joined the Diamond, under Captain Dale, on this station, Lid on leaving the ship quitted the service for good, having in all served in seventeen ships in Her Majesty's Royal Navy. In August of this year (1896) I found myself at Emu Plains, being in the employ of Messrs McGrath, fellmongers. It was whilst there that I was taken ill, towards the latter end of August I attributed my illness to exposure. My first symptoms Ware coughing, a spitting of blood, and a b'oody discharge from the kidneys of the t insistency of jelly. One man there was particularly kind to me, and constantly stayed up with me all night, giving me eucalyptus to inhale, and continuously rubb'ng it into my chest, throat, and stomach. The man said that he didn't think I'd last long if I stayed at Emu Plains and advised ma to go into a hospital. Feeling that he tois likely to prove a true prophet, I followed his advice, came to Sydney, and took cp my abode at 485 Kent-street, where I still am living. On my arrival in Sydney I g offered from great pains in the back and s'des, ani a 1 so under the ribs, I could take no solid food, and entirely subsisted on eggs 6id now milk: I went to consult a doctor whose rooms I could have reached under ordinary circumstances in ten minutes, bat was so horribly weak that it took me Ai hour and ten minutes to get there. He told me to strip, which I did, and he then sounded me and asked me how long I had b?enbad. I told him that from the first it wag about eight weeks, upon which he said, " its chronic." He suggested that I should go to a hospital at once, but I declined and returned home, I had medicine prescribed for me of various kinds, which proved quite ineffectual, and afforded me no relief whatever. I took no less than seven battles of eucalyptus, and even ohlorodyne was prescribed for me. I fell away lamentably, perspired profusely, and could not o'rtain any sleep. I was in sach pain that I could not shift in bed. My right side j was much the worse, and my breathing was most laboured and painful. I cannot be too grateful to my friend, Brother J. C. Jones. He would 'stay with me for threeor four hours at a time. One day a friend of mine read to me the account of Boilermaker Jarvis' wonderful recovery by taking Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, and I at once procured a box. I had taken all but two when the blood-spitting and emission ceased. After two boxes I was abb to get up and walk about, and now at the end of six boxes, the cure was almost 0 implete. The cure was MAGICAL, and I tell all my friends and the general public that nothing but Dr Williams' Pink Pills brought me once more before them to »;itate the temperance question, and on s eh occasion I ha^ve met with a great r ception. (Mr Terry here called our r porter's attention to the amount of useless physic he had consumed, and, indeed, t le amount of bottles reminded one of the 1 iterior of a chemist's shop). I can speak in the highest possible terms of the marvel--1 iUB curative properties of the Pink Pills. On my visits to, and lectures in, the country I shall consider it my duty to suffering humanity to recount my astounding oure, and I trust that I may be the

paeans of saving the life of many a despairing mortal. ' CHAS, TERRY." (Signed on oath and in the presence of Charles Lovely, J.P.) Dr Williams' Pink Fills create new blood, build up the nerves, and thus drive disease from the system. They are a sure remedy for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Paralysis, Locomotor Ataxy, St. Vitus's Dance, Nervous Headache, Sorofula, Chronic Erysipelas, Influenza's After Effects, eto.
