Twenty-fivo thousand Indian troops are being concentrated on the Indian frontier. Itinerant mollahs, referring to the Turkish successes in the GrecoTurkish war, prediot the millennium in Islamisnii . 3?he Ameer of Afghanistan has issued a firman forbidding his subjects to join in the jehad, or holy war* alleged to have been advocated in a pamphlet promulgated by the Ameer. It is believed that whatever the Ameer does he will do secretly, in osder to avoid an open rupture with the British.
