» The ordinary meeting of the above was held last night at the Library Buildings at 7.80. Present—The Mayor (Mr J. B. Stansell), and Ors P. Hennessy, H. Ooley, E. Osborne, J. W. Walsh, T. Westwood and H. Border. The minutes of the last meeting I were read and confirmed. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Ooley, That the application of Mrs Annie Collins be granted during the pleasure of this Oouncil, and subject to the approval of the Works Oommitte. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Hennessy, That this Oouncil endorse the proposals of the Pahiatua Borough Council re Wellington Harbour Board Bill, namely, that the Harbour Board representatives should be elected on a population basis, and that this Council informs the Secretary Wellington Harbour Board their views on the matter. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Westwood, That the following: transfers be made in tbe Bate Book and Burgess 801l: —Part section 15, from W. H. Simcox to Mrs Mary
Ann Gibson ; section 49, from T. F; Gibson to Laura Dalton Gibson ; and part section 248 and 249 from Gammon & Co. to H. M. Simmonds. Carried. Proposed by Or jfastwooa 1 . e§conded by Or Goley» That the Clerk be instructed to reply to the loiter of 0. Guerin to the following effect :— That this Council is not responsible for the olearing of gorae on roads, and requests her to have the gone referred to cleared from the road without delay, tiarriedi Proposed by Cr Hennessy, se* conded !.«y Or Westwood, That Mr McGill's application for part coat of | erecting ferice on*, pound reserve toe left in the hands of the BeserVg Committee to deal with. Carried. The Public Works Report was read as follows:— We beg to report that the day men have been employed in repairing Motoa Boad, alao in clearing drains, repairing bridge on the Avenue Boad 'and in repairing the worst parts of the wooden curbing with new timber { and also patching up other portions. The report was adopted. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Coley, That the Constable be requested to prosecute any person or persons found destroying trees or otherwise damaging the property of the Council in Victoria Park. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Walsh, That Councillors Henneasy and Osborne sign Bate. Book and initial all corrections for the current year. Carried. The accounts were passed for payment and the Counoil adjourned.
