Presentation to Mr Hammond.

It is the intention of the various committees who organised tbe Jubilee Celebrations at Rongotea to present Mr Hammond, who gave the use of his grounds and buildings on that occasion with a momento of the event. With this object in view an address has been drawn up for signature and plaoed in the hands of Mr T. W. Downes, junr., for illumination. The address, besides being one of oongratulation to Mr Hammond, briefly records the events of the occasion which it intended to commemorate, and Mr Downes has , been singularly happy in his conception of the design exhibited in the border, which presents very faithful drawings of Her Majesty the Queen on the top nnd Balmoral

Oastle at the bottom. The sides show fern leaves tastefully entwined and drawing of Maoris, with crossed spears and bayonets on alternate sideß. Tbe design and execution reflect great credit on Mr Downes skill and taste.
