+-. Some 600 people were killed in the recent anti-plague suppression riots. European ladies are daily subjected to insults in the streets at the hands of the disaffected natives. . All the workers in the mills up the Ganges have struck work. Bands of several thousands strong are marching upon the city with a view to reinforcing the rioters. A strong military force from the barracks at Pur has been despatched to intercept the march.
