Mishap to a Big Steamer.

The P. and 0. steamer Valetta, which, has arrived at Albany from London, reports that while passing through the Arabian Sea she fell in with the steamer Sultan of Bombay, in distress.

The Sultan had been struck by a heavy sea, which had smashed the main hatch and filled the bold and engine-room.

The Yaletta's boats with great difficulty rescued 111 people! Three boats were lowered from the Sultan and reached the Valetta. Two others were smashed by the sea and ten men drowned.

Those rescued had been without food for two days. They were landed at Colombo.
