Foxton Borough Council.
A special meeting of the above waß held at the Library Buildings last night at 7.80. Present— The Mayor (Or, J. R. Stanßell), Crs Border, H. Ooley, E. Osborne, J. W. Walsh, T. Weitwood and P. Hennesay. The meeting was called to take into consideration the olaim sent in by the Returning officer fo* expenses in connection with the poll taken for licensing purposes. It was proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Osborne, That the clerk communicate with the other public bodies interested, and ascertain if they are willing he should contest the claim of the Returning Officer, as we, the Council, consider they are excessive. Carried on a division, Ora Hannessy and Walsh voting againflt it.
