Egypt.

, A Reuter message from Cairo states that the KhaUfa Jmg massed 16,000 camels at Omdurma*. in the Eastern Soudan, td'tne^ north-west oi Khartoum, aod'jttst'.abpve th,e confluence Of the W^l4aad Blue Niles. ■ A great, conference of Dervish chiefs wiHbe held there in the middle of June. . . '• The message also states that British officers have been ordered to return to the Soudan by the end of June, an advance upon Berber being probable. Recent advices 6tate that an Egyptian expeditionary force against the Dervishes would advance upon AbuHamed between the fourth and fifth cataracts of the Nile in July, but. apparently an earlier movement has been decided upon. Berber lies between Abu-Hamed and Omdurman, above the worst cat aracts, add the advance from thence to the Dervish headquarters would be comparatively easy.
