Death of Mr Richardson.

. '»'■._ — — It is oar unpleasant duty to-day _ (Monday) to record the death by t; drowning of young George Richardeon, a son of Mr Richardson, of Scandia street. It appear* that James and George Richardson were returning from a shooting expedition in company with Mr Ernest Little and, when crossing the Manawatu river at Lancaster's ford about 7 a.m. this morning, both the Richardsons, who were riding on the same horse, were washed off in deep ' water and George, being unable to cope with the torrent, was drowned. The river was much more swollen ' to-day than when they crossed yesterday, and this fact no doubs accounted for the unfortunate cir- . cumstance by which a promising young man has lost his life.' The police are searching for the body, to day, but up to the time of pnrl 4 going to press without success.-*? Standard. . ;;"
