NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the above Act, and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company within the meaning of the said Act, being owner of land in New Zea* land, or being the holder or owner of any mortgage or mortgages of land in New Zealand, is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such land and mortgages as at 12 o'clock noon on the Slst day of March instant. In pursuance of " The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, 1898," and "Ihe Alcoholio Liquars Sale Control Aot, 1895, Amendment," I, Alexander. Simpson, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Manawatu, do hereby give notice that an Election will be held for the return of FIVE qualified persons as members of the Licensing Committee for the District of Manawatu, and that the latest day for receiving Nominations of Candidates will be the 17th day of March mat., and the Poll (if neoessavy) will be taken at the several undermentioned Polling Places of the said District on the 25tb day of March instant. 1897. Every person desirous of becoming a candidate mußt be nominated by not less than two electors of the said District, by a nomination paper as prescribed by Section 75 of " The Electoral Acfc, 1893," delivered to me on or before the said 17th day of March inst.
