A Bicycle Club.
* Last night a meeting of those interested in establishing a Bicycle Club in Foxton was held at the Manawatu Hotel. After discussion the following officers were elected : — President, John Stevens, Esq., M.H.R. ; Yioe President, His Worship tho Mayor, J. R. Stanaell ; Secretary, C. Austin ; Treasurer, P. Hennessy. Fourteen names were handed in for membership. It was resolved to address the Borough Council on the subject of forming a cycling track on the Recreation reserve, which, it was pointed out, be also suitable for a running track. The meeting also arranged to interview the business people to ask them to change the half-holiday from Tuesday to Wednesday. It was reported that. Mr Wrigley, the manager of the Carnarvon Tramway would facilitate this change by making Wednesday instead* of Monday the day for arriving at Foxton at 10 o'clock. This would .thus give storekeepers plenty ofiime to- despatch their orders up the line.
