Nominations for aU events, except Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day) and Trial Handicap (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxtou on Thursday, December 31st, 1896, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on the 9th January, 1807. Acceptances for first day's races close on Saturday, January 16h, 1897, at 9 p.m. Entries for Trial Hnrdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day), and Trial Handicap (second day), close on Saturday, January 16th. 1897, at 9 p m. Weights for second day's races will be declared on Friday evening, Janu^'y 22nd, at 8 p.m. Acceptances close same evening at 9 p.m. Definition of Hacks. Hacks shall mean horas that have never won an advertised race exceeding the net sam or value of 40 soys. at time of start (Hack and Hunter races excepted.) In all nominations description, age ana pedigree must bo given, together with the colours of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the "Rules of Racing." No betting allowed on the course except through the medium of the totalisator. The Committee reserve the right to alter any of the above dates.
