The Artist is by one of Traducer's stoutest sons — Somnus — sire of Dudu (thrice winner of the Wanganui Cup), Foxton (thrice winner of the Rangitikei Handicap), Rangiatea, Rainbow, and rainy other splendid performers. The Artist is a beautiful bay, 6yrs old. stands lfihds. 2in., possesses good flat bone, and has a beautiful temper. As a racehorse he has proved himself an excellent performer. Amongst his numerous wins are the Wooilville Handicap, beating that brilliant mare Lorelei, who divided second honors ; the Flying and Wanganui Stakes at the W J.C.
