The Glenbrook Mystery.
Two men have mysteriously dis - ;- --' appeared from Glecbrook, near the Blue Mountains, N.S. Wales. A third man named Leslie is reporter to be missing, and the Governmen has offered a reward of £100 for 4 due to the mystery. Preston is the name of the second missing man. He was a student o\ mineralogy at Sydney University. Portions of his clothing have been found at Linden, and the police theory is that Weller (the first man) was made away with at Glenbrook, and Preston at Linden. A man named Harwood or Butler is " wanted " in connection with the affair. A peculiar coincidence in connection with the case is that a man giving the name of Captain Lee Weller (the same name and calling as that of one of the three missing men) shipped for San Francisco from Newcastle last month. It has transpired that, the real j Frank Harwood, whom Butler, the | person suspected of the responsibility for the disappearances, is supposed to have represented, is at present manager of a mine in Western Australia. Butler is said to have somehow obtained possession of one of Harwood's testimonials. The original Harwood has informed the police that some time ago he was robbtd of certain documents, including a miner's right. It wag no doubt on this latter document that Butler poaed as a mining man. A police officer will probably leave by the Miowera on the 12th instant to intercept Butler. . When Weller left Sydney he took with him a considerable quantity of clothing and jewellery. The body of young Preston has been discovered buried 2ft under ground, about a mile and a half from Linden. The police merely uncovered the back of the head of the man, who is lying face downwards in his grave, but by the shortness and colour of the hair the body is assumed to he that of Preston. The body will not be completely exhumed nntil to-morrow, when the coroner and medical men will arrive. The gully in whioh the body was found is the place when Butler and Pruton were last teen together.
