Several of the leading French newspapers are urging that better relations be established between France and Great Britain. • The Sultan is said to be delighted at the failure of the French scheme for placing the Pone finances under European control. Eight thousand dock labourers are on strike in Hamburg, and the strike is now extending to other classes. The shippers have sent to England for men to replace the strikers. The dockers at Kiel are joining in the strike.
