MANAWATU. In oar last issue we stated that Messrs Bruoo and Steven? had been nominated, and since then Mr Kellow has been nominated. Mr R. 0. Captain Russell and A. L. D. Fraser. BANGITOXI. W: A. L. Bailey and F. G. Lath' bridge. At Mr Menteath's meeting in Wellington on Wednesday night Mr Duthie gave a forecast of the general election. He gathered from reliable sources that the Opposition would secure 18 seats in the North Island, , and the Government 14, while in the South Government would return 20 and the Opposition 15, making Go* vernment 81, to the Opposition 88. This was not connting Hawera, Manawatu, and Waikouaiti, where through the prohibitionists there were two Opposition candidates in each case, and the votes would be split.
