Nominations for all events, except Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day) and Trial Handicap (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on Thursday, December 31st, 1896, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be deOlared on the 9th January, 1897. Acceptances for first day's races close on Saturday, January 16th, 1897, at 9 p.m. Entries for Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day), and Trial Handicap (second day), close on Saturday, January 16th, 1897, at 9 p m. Weights for second day's races will be declared on Friday evening, January 22nd, »t 8 p.m. Acceptances olose same evening at 9 p.m. Definition or Hacks. Hacks shall mean horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding the net sum or value of 40 sovs. at time of start Hack and Hunter races excepted.) In all nominations description, age and pedigree must be given, together with the colours of the rider. The advertised- fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the "Rules of Racing." No betting allowed on the course except through the medium of the totalisator. The Committee reserve the right to alter any of the above dates.
