The Government Veterinarian Report.

W« have received from the Department of Agriculture their fourth report, and it is «ne of much value to the farming industry . Tbe general report by Archibald Park. M.R.O.V.tf., k illustrated by various plates : showing the bacilli of anthrax in blood vessels ; three tumoura in the post-pharangeal region of the throat in a case of Actinomycosis : also a den^e mycelial network of fungus. Disomyces, which is allied to the actinomyce9, and attacks horses more than cattle, is shown by photo's of a horse as before treatment and after. Plates dealing with Tuberculosis •how the microphotns of giant cell with bacilli around (be periphery and a tubercle bacillus in a giant ell surrounded by a secretion, and also photograph of cow with calf at foot showing tuberculous tumours io tbe throat. whatever of such a thing ever having occurred. Neither is a butcher at all likely to purchase in this colony a markedly cancerous animal and offer ie for human consumption without being detected."

The Report deals with frozen meat, cheese and batter making, fruit, insect post j , raos; of which have been published io leaflets.
