Our Parliament.
In returning thanks for the toast of the Parliament, at the Palmerston Show banquet, Mr J. G. Wilson, M.H.R., was glad to hear Mr Stanford say something in favour of Parliament, and was glad to have the opportunity of saying a few kind things of those politicians he was leaving behind. It was satisfactory to know that whatever was said in the House, whenever the session was over no personal animosity existed. With a Parliament containing a Speaker like Sir Maurice O'Rorke, who cculd quell the greatest disturb* ance, a leader like Mr Seddon, whose strength of will and achievements were marvellous, or with a leader of the Opposition, combining the courtesy, ability and experience of Oapt. Russell, no one could speak truly of its decadence.
