Nominations for aU events, except Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day) and Trial Handicap (second day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on Thursday, December 31st, 1896, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on the 9th January, 1897. Acceptances for fir3t day's races olose on Saturday, January 16th, 1897, at 9 p.m. Entries for Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day), and Trial Handicap (second day), close on Saturday, January 16th, 1897, at 9 p m. Weights for second day's races will be declared on Friday evening, January 22nd, at 8 p.m. Acceptances close same evening at 9 p.m Definition of Hacks. Hacks shall mean horses that have never , i won an advertised race exceeding the net sum or value of 40 soys. at time of start (Hack and Hunter races excepted.) In all nominations description, age ana pedigree must be given, together with the colours of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the " Eules of Racing." No betting allowed on the course except through the medium of the totalisator. The Committee reserve the right to alter any of the above dates.
